The way I heard it, it’s because he got run over by a bulldozer while protesting…

Well, yes and no.

He got hit by a bulldozer, but his immediate reaction was essentially “Okay screw this I’m staying here forever now.”

I love this on so many levels.

cable companies: wow it looks like compiling a lot of tv shows into one streaming service like netflix increases sales and reduces piracy
cable companies: what if we all pulled our shows off netflix and made our own SEPARATE streaming services with their own fees???
consumers: -don’t pay for streaming services and go back to pirating shows instead-

the distinction between “crafts” and “fine art” is probably driven by misogyny and the devaluation of women’s labor

art forms that have traditionally been practiced by women like embroidery are devalued and called just “crafts” while art forms that women historically were mostly barred from (painting, sculpture) are “fine art”

can confirm!! i work at a craft store & the sheer number of women i’ve met who devalue the incredible creations they’ve made (ex: beautiful elaborate needlepoint that took years to do, or a massive art quilt) & call them “just a little craft” is wild. crafts are art. 100% fuck anyone who says otherwise.

Nintendo’s sales haven’t been what they hoped for or expected, so all the executives got together and made the decision to cut their salaries in half to ensure their employees still get paid. They say it’s the fault of the executives that the products aren’t selling well, not their employees, so it isn’t fair for the employees to have to take the hits for that.

Why are there people who don’t like or respect Nintendo again?

Here are some sources for this

This is unexpected.

it’s actually not when you remember that the late Satoru Iwata, former president of Nintendo, did the same thing in 2013 when the wii struggled following its release, for the same reason.

he may be gone but his kindness lives on.
